Nigel Leeming has operated a successful restaurant corporation for more than 30 years. Nigel’s philosophy is to treat his employees, customers, suppliers and partners with great respect and caring, and to nurture supportive relationships with the communities in which he does business. Nigel is also a past vice-president of development at the non-profit Human Capital Institute where, in his first full year, he raised over $5 million dollars.
Farhana has worked in the field of higher education for over twenty three years specifically in the areas of university advancement, strategic planning, internationalization, and international alliance and partnership building. She has worked extensively with corporations and foundations in Canada and the U.S. in philanthropic support of higher education initiatives. Farhana has been the Senior Executive Director of Development for McGill University where she was responsible for leading the overall development operation and advancing the University’s philanthropic and research efforts with individuals, foundations and corporations in North America and abroad. She has deep expertise in campaign planning (helping plan for McGill’s most recent $750M campaign), in foundation and corporate relations, prospect management and donor research, advancement information systems, and campaign and advancement operational financing.
Farhana has also been the Director of International Research at the University of Toronto where she led the development of strategic international partnerships and university internationalization. She has built successful international partnerships between universities in Canada, the U.S., Europe, India, Latin America, China, Africa and the Caribbean and helped to secure tens of millions of dollars in development aid funding.
Farhana is a regular speaker and panelist at conferences worldwide and has published numerous articles in her field. She has conducted extensive research in the areas of corporate social responsibility (CSR), corporate philanthropy, university-corporate relations, internationalization and advancement. A native of South Africa, Farhana grew up in Toronto, lived in Montreal for many years and is now based in South Carolina. She holds a B.A. from the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada and an M.Ed with a specialization in Higher Education from the University of Toronto.
Raman Singh has more than 13 years of HR and people management experience in various industries handling team sizes of more than 100 at a time. Between June 2003 to July 2005, Raman managed the Corporate Insurance and Key Man Insurance sales division at ICICI Prudential, the biggest Private Insurance company in India and one of the biggest in Asia.
Raman is an expert in online research, employee engagement and off-shore resourcing and was instrumental in setting up the HCI offshore operations in India from scratch. He has executed HR and Talent Management research projects for clients including Bank of America, Ladders.com, Rio Tinto, Workscape, HCI, CHCI, Monster, EEA, IRF, Harvard Business Publishing and many others. Raman heads the MVP operations in India and is directly responsible and involved in all the project executions for our clients.

Steve LaMotta is a solution sales, business development and account management executive leading strategy and execution, effectively growing a company’s business. Steve is currently serving as the Chief Relationship Officer at the Talent Management Alliance (TMA). TMA is a leading event marketing company focused in the talent and human capital industry producing 20-25 events annually that attract senior level HR and talent management executives. LaMotta served as the Center for Human Capital Innovation’s (CHCI) non-profit organization TMGov.org’s VP Business Development & Relations in growing the organizations’ membership to over 450,000 and educating government executives in talent and human capital management best practices. Prior to CHCI, he was the Human Capital Institute’s (HCI) Vice President Development & Alliances where he was instrumental in tripling revenues for the organization and individually represented more than 31% of the total growth during his 5 year tenure as the foremost respected development executive by HCI clients.
Prior to HCI, Steve was a key leader and member of the HRsmart executive team, responsible for business development, alliances, and business process & professional services that provided enhanced value and services to client offerings. Additionally, he was responsible for the strategic IBM relationship and its go-to-market strategy for the suite of Talent Management Solutions offered in the growing e-business on demand and cloud-based Linux operating environment.
LaMotta has also been in such roles as a Managing Partner of HR Alliance, Co-Founder and President of Staffing.org, Inc., and VP Business Development for Bernard Hodes Group and People Solutions, Inc. His leadership skills have enabled him to lead a team of professionals in formulating various successful business strategies in addition to achieving maximum results from as many as 150 employees as an operations leader.
He is active in his community as a volunteer leader and board member of his village association in The Woodlands, Texas. The Woodlands Township is the local government for one of the country’s leading master-planned communities.
Steve has been an advisor to several state and national human resource organizations and business advisory boards. He has held various board seats for such well-know HR organizations as HCI, CRI – a Manpower Company, SHRM’s Area VP, Staffing Management Association (SMA), the EMA Foundation, SHRM National, and the DFW-SMA. In addition, he also has co-chaired the HR Boardroom, a senior human resource executive group forum.
